Install instructions

Mac users: the game isn't signed by Apple, so macOS will block it the first time. You only need to do this once per download.

Download the Mac .zip and double-click it to extract compendium.app.
Open Terminal (press Cmd + Space, type "Terminal", press Enter) and run these two lines. If the game isn't in your Downloads folder, change ~/Downloads to wherever it is. You can also delete the path and drag the app into the Terminal window to paste its location.

codesign --force --deep -s - ~/Downloads/compendium.app
Double-click the game. If it opens, you're done! If macOS says it can't be opened, click Done (not "Move to Bin") and carry on with step 4.
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll down to the Security section. Next to the message about "compendium", click Open Anyway, enter your password, and click Open.

After this, the game opens normally. If you download a new version, repeat these steps for it.
